The start of a new adventure!!

Today, I finally found some time to sit down behind my desk listening to some music of Daughter and started to write on my blog. A new adventure, living at the campus of the University of Applied Sciences, Lahti in Mukkula. So where to start? 
 

CHECK - IN at Schiphol airport

Sunday 1st of February day of departure! 

Family and two close friends came to Schiphol to say goodbye to me. Didn't wanted to show it that much, but YES I was emotional, excited and nervous all at the same time. For a long time it wasn't real until this day and that's what I realized when I was sitting in the airplane. Still it felt a little bit like a holiday..... 

My suitcase was extremely heavy, around 23 kilos! 

At Helsinki airport I became totally calm and peaceful everywhere you walk you see wallpapers of trees and you listen to the sound of birds tweeting. Everything went really smoothly and didn't had to wait that long for my suitcase. In the meanwhile I send a message to Henna, she is my tutor (also studying at the Institute of Design). She was waiting for me at the bus station in Lahti. You will not believe it, but they had WiFi everywhere! Even in the bus to the bus station to Lahti. It was incredible I already send the first snow pictures to my dad.

Henna and I took an other bus (yes, again) to Mukkula, to the campus. Carrying my 23 kilos suitcase wasn't that funny with all the snow here, but well I survived. I live in this really cute and cosy apartment together with Alice (from France) and Noemi (from Catalonia). Alice called me and she said I will be home in 5 minutes make yourself ready we go to the sauna. After the hot sauna we went running into the snow, now I know how that feels like. First experience in Finland and with the snow!

Monday the 2nd of February.

At 11 o'clock I had a meeting together with Heikki and Anu (Head of Institute of Design and International coordinator). Together we made a schedule with all the courses I will follow the upcoming months. After that I already had my first course, called Electronic Publication. In the midday I arranged a lot of practical stuff together with Henna.

On Tuesday first day I had the whole day class. It was pretty cool! When I went home I was so tired, but had to work on my project. First presentation was already on Thursday! 

SUSHI NIGHT! In the evening of wednesday the third, my tutor, Henna, together with an other tutor, Anton, arranged a sushi night. So 6 other exchange students all came to Anton's house to make sushi together. First time that I actually did something besides school. Meeting new people from all around the world! Tomorrow presentation day, so finished my Finnish EBOOK for the Ipad in the early morning. 

First day we have sunlight after six days of white airs I had some sunshine in my room! It was beautiful and had a nice walk through the city. My orientation was really bad the whole time, but some sunlight helped. :) The presentation went well, it wasn't that big of a deal as I expected it to be. It was more a vinger practice. Although I like what I made for this publication. 

FREE DAY, woehoee! FINALLY! 

Friday was the first day I didn't had any courses! I decided to switch off my alarm. That was pretty nice, because now I woke up naturally through the light that was shining in my room, AGAIN. Didn't told you yet about the weather. The cold isn't that bad, actually. Every day it is around 0 celsius, sometimes about plus sometimes minus. In the evening I played monopoly together with Selena, Irene and Malin.

Tomorrow I will meet up with Jenni. I met here in The Hague, because she did an exchange at the academy I'm studying at back home. She is living in Lahti, so she will give me a personal tour through Lahti.
